Dear friends,

The Archbishop's of Canterbury and York have instructed that all public worship in the Church of England must be put on hold.

This means that for the time being there will be no services held at St. Bartholomew's Church. This saddens us, but we appreciate the need to put public health at the heart of this decision.

Whilst we will not be gathering in worship, the Church remains here for Woodhorn with Newbiggin and will continue to pray for you. We are taught by Jesus to love God and our neighbour, so let's be mindful of those for whom these coming weeks will be especially hard. Pray for them and where possible offer support- even a simple phone call could make the greatest difference.

This situation is alien to most of us. There will be challenges and sadness ahead, but as a community we can face this and bring light into the darkness of this crisis.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at the Vicarage on 01670 817220 of

We will be keeping ourselves active on Facebook, and prayer requests will be warmly welcomed.

May God's blessing be upon us, now and always.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Anthony and all at St. Bartholomew's
