Worship & Celebrations

Throughout the year, St Bartholomew's Church and the Church Centre on Front street welcome many hundreds of people who come together either for regular worship during the week, for special events and celebrations, at times of sadness and remembering and at festival times throughout the year such as Christmas and Easter.

There are a number of occasions each week when we come together and meet with God and ask him to bless us, heal us, renew us and strengthen us.  We meet in both the church building at Church Point as well as the Church Centre on Front Street.  Details of our regular Weekly Services here

We also meet monthly for a family all age service on a Sunday afternoon.  Detail of Family-T here

There are other special services during the year to remember our departed loved ones.  Details of our Memorial Services here

We always make special effort to celebrate Advent and Christmas and Lent and Easter seasons.  Details here of Christmas and Easter

We also get together to celebrate those special and defining moments in our lives such as baptisms, weddings and funerals.  Details here of arrangements for baptisms, weddings and funerals

During the year we also hold special services of spiritual healing for ourselves, our loved ones and the wider world.  Details here

Informal daily prayer is also an important part of the life of any worshiping community.  Through this website we offer connections to the Newbiggin Prayer Diary which offers a structure to help to pray for the whole of the town each day over a monthly cycle.  There is also a link to the Church of England daily prayer for morning, evening and night time which can be found here.

We aim to make our worship and celebrations enriching, enjoyable and engaging so that we draw closer to God and each other.

Most of all we hope that you will take the opportunity to join in with whatever is appropriate for you and that our worship helps you to grow in faith and relationship with God.
